On September 28th 2023, the National Security Agency launched their tenth annual Codebreaker Challenge. The exercise consists of a series of fictional tasks to accomplish a larger cyber security investigation or incident while testing the knowledge, skill and capabilities of the participants. During this year’s challenge, participants provided assistance to the US Coast Guard to investigate an unidentified signal near US waters and investigate the unknown object producing the signal. Conquering The Challenge
Tristan Myers, Magoo & Associates, LLC Chief Information Security Officer, participated and successful completed the nine daunting tasks within the challenge with 43 days remaining. This is his second year participating, and second year solving the NSA Codebreaker Challenge. It is estimated that less than 1% of participants solve the challenge annually.
